Rory Best will succeed his brother Simon as Ulster skipper for the forthcoming season, while his brother and front-row colleague has been named as vice-captain.
Best, Ireland's first-choice hooker in the run-up to the World Cup, has made over 50 appearances for Mark McCall's side since his debut in 2004 and was named the Ulster Rugby Personality of the Year last campaign.
"Simon has done an outstanding job in the role over the past two seasons and he will provide Rory with invaluable advice and guidance, particularly as he settles into the role," said McCall today.
"That said Rory is his own man, and a natural successor - he has matured tremendously as a player over the past couple of the seasons and is a hugely respected and popular member of the squad."
