Connacht coach Michael Bradley will take control of the Ireland squad to face the Barbarians later this month and to tour the southern hemisphere in June, the IRFU has confirmed.
The former Ireland scrumhalf will be assisted by forwards coach Niall O'Donovan and defence coach Graham Steadman, while newly appointed Declan Kidney finishes his business with Munster and readies himself to take control of the national side on its return from Australia.
Bradley will also fulfil the role of backs coach for the meeting with the Ba-Baas in Kingsholm on May 27th and the Tests against New Zealand on June 7th and Australia on June 14th.
Joey Miles, who was tour manager for the 2005 trip to Japan, will take up the role again, while Gerard Carmody remains as team services manager and Gary O'Driscoll stays on as team doctor.
The squads for the Barbarians match and the tour will be named tomorrow afternoon at 2.00pm and will have nothing to do with Kidney, who is not even expected to attend any of the three matches.
Kidney's first Test in charge will be against Canada in Croke Park in November and will be swiftly followed by games against the the All Blacks and Argentina.
The Rugby World Cup organisers have confirmed that the draw for the tournament will be based on IRB rankings that currently see Ireland in the second tier, in eighth place.
His immediate task, therefore, is to manufacture results and improve Ireland's standing ahead of December's draw for 2011 World Cup in New Zealand.
