MUSTER SCHOOLS' SENIOR CUP: Castletroy College 30 Bandon Grammar School 0CASTLETROY College scored 19 points in the closing quarter to record a flattering Munster Schools' Senior Cup victory over a game Bandon Grammar School in Clonakilty yesterday.
The Limerick side led 11-0 at half-time after the first of Kevin Doyle’s two tries, a penalty from Pádraig O’Connor and a Pádraig Quinn drop-goal, before cutting loose late on.
Neil Cronin, Peter Murray and Doyle, again, crossed for tries with O’Connor converting twice to leave Castletroy facing the holders CBC, Cork, at the next stage, when Bandon meet the favourites, PBC, Cork. Former Ireland prop Peter Clohessy’s son, Luke, was introduced to scrum-half late in the game for Castletroy.
