Ulster will have the services of Italian Carlo Del Fava as they look to get back to winning ways against the Newport and Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade this Saturday.

The lock, who played in Italy's final World Cup pool game against Scotland last weekend, is straight back into the mix having been being called up late by Pierre Berbizier.

Fellow secondrow Ryan Caldwell is not considered after being red carded in the defeat to Edinburgh.  He will attend a disciplinary hearing tomorrow.

There is a first appearance in the squad for summer signing Kieran Hallett.  The former Bedford Blues outhalf is named alongside his Irish U21 teammates Darren Cave and David Pollock.

Bryn Cunningham (dead leg) and Matt McCullough (back) both picked up injuries last weekend but are fit enough to be included in the 25-man squad. That said, Ulster are still without 13 players due to injury or rest following Ireland's premature exit from the World Cup.

McCall will be looking for a positive response from his charges after apoor display against Edinburgh.

"It was a very disappointing display - we didn't wake up for half-an-hour," said the coach after the game. "We played better in the second half but kept turning the ball over and we couldn't hold on to the ball long enough to score. At this level if you make as many mistakes as we did, especially in crucial areas of the pitch, you don't deserve to win. We lacked composure. There was good build-up play to the 22 and then we tried to force passes."
