Ireland v Canada: Keith Earls' remarkable rise to prominence this season will see him win his first Ireland cap against Canada. The 21-year-old will start at fullback when Declan Kidney's side take on the Canucks at Thomond Park on Saturday.

The Moyross native will make his debut in his home town after a blistering start to the season for Munster in which he has scored four tries in six competitive outings.

Earls, whose father Ger was a stalwart for Young Munster for many years, had an exceptional Churchill Cup campaign in the summer, scoring in each of Ireland A's games, including against Canada.

He replaces Rob Kearney, who moves out to the left wing, with Tommy Bowe making up the back three after his promising start at Ospreys this season.

As expected, Kidney has named Luke Fitzgerald alongside Brian O'Driscoll in the centre, with Paddy Wallace dropping to the replacements. It will be the first time the pair start an international in midfield after injury prevented Fitzgerald playing on the summer tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Ronan O'Gara continues at outhalf, with Eoin Reddan winning back his place at scrumhalf from Peter Stringer.

Although expected to play it safe in a bid to with World Cup ranking points at stake, Kidney has decided on a number of new combinations in his pack.

Tony Buckley replaces Munster colleague John Hayes at tighthead and will win his tenth cap alongside provincial teammates Jerry Flannery and Marcus Horan

Ulster flanker Stephen Ferris will make his sixth appearance after being named at blindside. Shane Jennings will start on the other side of the scrum with fellow Leinster player Jamie Heaslip at number eight.

Paul O'Connell and Donncha O'Callaghan continue in the secondrow.
 
Both David Wallace and Alan Quinlan have been named amongst a provisional list of eight replacements, that Kidney will reduce to seven on Thursday.

Kidney has decided against naming a fullback replacement, with Girvan Dempsey and Geordan Murphy dropping out of the panel. Rob Kearney or Luke Fitzgerald will provide cover for Earls, with Shane Horgan joining Paddy Wallace as cover for the back five.

Tomás O'Leary, Ian Dowling, Jonathan Sexton, Andrew Trimble, Cian Healy, Bernard Jackman, Denis Leamy, Mick O'Driscoll and Donnacha Ryan also drop out from the 34-strong panel named last week.
