Lewis Moody has been ruled out of the England team for tomorrow's World Cup warm-up clash against France at Twickenham.
The Leicester flanker has suffered what England head coach Brian Ashton has termed a "tiny" calf muscle tear.
His place in the number seven shirt will be taken by Wasps' Joe Worsley, who started at openside flanker during the record 62-5 victory over Wales last Saturday.
Bath lock Steve Borthwick moves onto the replacements' bench instead of Worsley, with Martin Corry providing back-row cover.
Ashton said: "A scan last night showed a tiny calf muscle tear and it just not worth the risk."
Moody, who has won 45 caps, is expected to be named in Ashton's 30-man World Cup squad when it is announced next Tuesday.
