Toulon’s Romain Taofifenua cited for alleged kick on Stuart Olding

Ulster centre left the field after the incident in the 47th minute and didn’t return

Toulon lock Romain Taofifenua has been cited for allegedly kicking Ulster centre Stuart Olding in the head during the Champions Cup clash at Ravenhill on Saturday.

The complaint was brought by the citing commissioner Peter Larter (England), who was present at Ulster's 23-13 defeat at the hands of defending European champions.

Olding left the field after the incident in the 47th minute and didn't return. He was due in Carton House this morning to join up with the Ireland squad ahead of autumn internationals against South Africa, Georgia and Australia.

Christopher Quinlan (England) has been appointed as the independent judicial officer for the hearing which will take place in Dublin on Thursday, October 30th," according to an EPCR statement this afternoon.

Taofifenua is alleged to have breached Law 10.4 (c): Kicking an opponent.

The offence carries a low end sanction of four weeks, ranging to a top end ban of 12 to 52 weeks.
