Rugby:The IRFU has confirmed the visit of Fiji to Thomond Park in November as part of the 2012 autumn internationals.
The game, on November 17th, will be an uncapped international, though it will “include players from the full Irish squad for the Guinness Series that will also be taking on South Africa and Argentina in November”, according to the IRFU.
"The Fiji game gives us the opportunity to move the fixture to an appropriate sized stadium in terms of the anticipated attendance,” Padraig Power, IRFU director of commercial and marketing said today.
“There has been a great history of international games being played in Thomond Park and some fantastic crowds.
With the Fiji game scheduled as the middle fixture of the Guinness Series in November, the supporters can certainly expect a spectacle as the Ireland players take on a Fijian team with all their traditional skills and flair on show.”
Fiji last played in Ireland in 2009 when they were beaten 41-6 by the homeside at the RDS.
Ireland will face the Springboks and Argentina at the Aviva Stadium on November 10th and 24th, respectively.
