Munster and Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery is available to face Wasps after it was confirmed that his disciplinary hearing will be held on Thursday, January 24th.
Flannery was today named in the Munster squad to face the European champions in Thomond Park on Saturday, despite being cited yesterday for an alleged stamp on Clermont Auvergne's Julien Bonnaire.
While the news is undoubtedly good for Munster it may not bode well for Ireland who kick off their Six Nations campaign against Italy in Croke Park on February 2nd. If Flannery is found guilty of the offence by the three-man panel, a ban would rule him out some, if not all, of the tournament.
Munster need to beat the defending champions by more than one point to ensure qualification.
The match promises to be an intriguing encounter and one of the most interesting duels on the day will be between Ireland scrumhalves Peter Stringer and Eoin Reddan.
Both have been named in Eddie O'Sullivan's training squad ahead of the Six Nations with no clear indication of the pecking order after Reddan replaced the previously immovable Stringer during the World Cup.
Reddan, who played two European Cup games for Munster before his move to London, is relishing the return to Thomond.
"The Munster fans make sure there is an incredible atmosphere at Thomond Park so it is essential you keep your head and be clinical," says Reddan. "But while it is in our hands as the group leaders it will be a huge ask and we will just go out and try to produce the sort of quality performance that gets us the win.
"And the point Munster won in the defeat at Clermont in Round 5 probably cleared things up for everyone in the Pool and now we can focus on the job in hand. It means we all know just what is required to get through to the quarter-finals."
Wasps opened the defence of their title with a 24-23 win against Munster in November.
