Rugby:Edinburgh have confirmed the signing of Ben Atiga on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old former All Black centre will join the Scottish capital club from Super 15 side the Highlanders ahead of next season.

Atiga won his sole cap for the All Blacks in 2008, and has also played for the Blues. “He is a very impressive package of agility, power and skill,” said coach, Michael Bradley. “He has proven his ability on some of the toughest stages in world rugby.”

Atiga captained a New Zealand team that beat Ireland in the Under 21 World Cup final at Hughenden, Glasgow in 2004.
