The death has taken place of former international rugby outhalf Ian Burns. A past Wanderers captain and president, he was 58 years old and played for Ireland once in his career.
Burns earned his only international cap in the Five Nations Championship against England in January 1980.
In his school days he formed a strong halfback partnership with another future international John Robbie.
The pair featured prominently when High School won the Leinster Senior Cup for the first and only time in 1973.

Burns was also a talented cricketer and played for many years with the YMCA club in Sandymount.
