John Hayes’s appeal against the six-week ban handed down by the IRFU for his stamp on Leinster prop Cian Healy will be heard in Dublin tomorrow.
Hayes was suspended under law 10.4 (b) after he was red carded for a stamp that left Healy bloodied and in need of medical attention during the 30-0 Leinster win at the RDS.
It was the 36-year-old’s first dismissal of his career.
Tomorrow’s hearing will take place at 5.30pm at the IRFU offices on Lansdowne Road and will be chaired by Billy Glynn, chairman of the IRFU appeals committee, who will be assisted by Leo Galvin and George Spotswood.
The Munster and Ireland forward has already missed the opening Heineken European Cup defeat to Northampton and is currently set to miss the second game against Treviso as well as Magners League ties against Edinburgh and Ulster.
As it stands, the ban ends on Saturday, November 14th – a day before Ireland’s first autumn international, against Australia at Croke Park.
