Rugby:John Hayes' days in a Munster jersey are coming to an end and though the veteran is contracted until the end of this year's World Cup, he was not present when the squad assembled in Cork yesterday for pre-season.
The squad gathered at CIT and also missing were the Irish international players, who are still in camp at Carton House in Maynooth. The international contingent are due to re-join their provinces tonight.
The players present at CIT got the chance to meet Bryce Kavanagh, Munster’s new strength and conditioning coach, who joined from Aussie Rules outfit, The Sydney Swans.
Prop Hayes (37) has been capped 206 times for Munster.
