The 2010 Heineken Cup final will be held at Paris’ Stade de France, it was announced today. The match will take place on May 22nd and will be the third final to be staged in France.

Bath beat Brive to win the 1998 final in Bordeaux and Leicester triumphed over Stade Francais at the Parc des Princes in Paris in the 2001 showpiece.

“We are delighted that the Paris 2010 Heineken Cup final will be played at the magnificent Stade de France, the venue of the 2007 Rugby World Cup final,” said Jean-Pierre Lux, the president of the European Rugby Cup (ERC).
