McCoy back in the saddle

Champion jockey returns after recovering from broken ribs sustained last month

Champion jockey Tony McCoy is set to return to action at Ludlow tomorrow. He sustained broken ribs in a bad fall from Nicky Henderson's Quantitativeeasing at Cheltenham last month, an injury which ruled him out of the concluding weeks of the season.

Since the new campaign got underway, title rival Jason Maguire has made a lightning start, highlighted by a treble at Sedgefield on Tuesday, and McCoy will be keen to not let him get too far ahead.

The 18-times champion will ride Church Field, trained by Jonjo O'Neill, in the Lycetts Insurance Brokers Novices' Handicap Hurdle. Church Field is carrying a 7lb penalty having won at Newton Abbot last week.
