Ireland coach Joe Schmidt has called up Simon Zebo and Craig Gilroy to the Six Nations camp at Carton House as he awaits news on the fitness of Keith Earls following the last round of Heineken Cup matches.

Zebo replaced Earls after 24 minutes of Munster’s 38-6 victory over Edinburgh after he picked up a knee injury at a ruck and went on to score a try in the second half. Earls will undergo a scan on the injury today.

Zebo and Ulster winger Gilroy were not included in the original extended panel by Schmidt as both players were not long back from serious injuries.

Gilroy played the full 80 minutes of Ulster’s thrilling 22-19 victory over Leicester at Welford Road as they secured top seeding with an unbeaten six from six in Pool Five.
