Ireland 13-3 Scotland: Ireland defeated Scotland 13-3 at Templeville Road tonight to record their second home win of the Women's Six Nations Championship.
The match began as a low scoring affair with a Sarah Gill penalty for Scotland the only score to separate the two sides at the break.
Matters didn't get much better for Ireland for long periods of the second half either. Jo O'Sullivan had already been sin-binned on the half hour mark.
However, on her return O'Sullivan made amends as she combined with Jess Lambert and Tania Rosser to go over for the first try of the match.
Grace Davitt converted a penalty shortly after before Scotland hooker Louise Moffat was yellow carded with 20 minutes remaining.
Rosser and Orla Brennan then combined to let Irish captain Sarah Jane Belton put the icing on the cake with a try 10 minutes from time.
Elsewhere the Irish Colleges trounced their Scottish Universities counterparts 45-8 at Jordanstown, while the Ireland Under-20s beat Scotland U-20s 20-12 at Dubarry Park.
The Ireland Club side defeated Scotland 20-15 at Donnybrook.
The only bright point of the evening from a Scottish perspective came in the A match as Ireland A were comprehensive losers 46-7 at McDiarmid Park.
