ALL 39 members of the Irish squad assembled in Limerick last night to begin a week's training ahead of the coming Tests, with only injuries to Gordon D'Arcy and Rob Kearney causing any concern, writes Gerry Thornley.
D’Arcy’s ankle strain, which forced his departure in the first half of Leinster’s win over Cardiff, was being assessed, as was the tight hamstring which prevented Kearney from playing in that game.
The Irish management will have a clearer picture regarding both injuries today.
Paul ODonohoe will captain the Leinster A side against their Connacht counterparts in tomorrow’s interprovincial at Donnybrook (kick-off 5pm).
The side contains first-team players Ronnie McCormack and Trevor Hogan, who partners Ciarán Ruddock in the secondrow.
Lansdowne’s Eoin Sheriff will play alongside Jordi Murphy and Paul Ryan in the backrow.
With the Ireland Under-20 players in national camp this week, a number of club and young development players feature in the squad.
The Dublin Port Company has announced that it will renew its sponsorship of Clontarf Rugby Club and will continue as the club’s main sponsor until 2012.
The news was officially announced to club supporters prior to Saturday’s 9-3 home win over Blackrock.
It means the company will continue its status as the club’s main sponsor since 1994.
