HEINEKEN CUP:Leinster could be in line for a return to Twickenham over the Easter weekend in April after they were drawn away to Harlequins in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals. Munster will take on the Ospreys in a home clash on the same weekend.
Felipe Contepomi kicked four penalties in a nervy display as Leinster beat Edinburgh 12-3 at the RDS. With Wasps losing 21-15 away to Castres, it meant Michael Cheika’s side topped Pool Two, going through as the sixth-ranked side.
That pits them against the London side, who are likely to take the opportunity to move the game from The Stoop to Twickenham, where a full house could be on the cards.
Munster went through as second seeds after a storming second-half display helped them claim all five points on offer in the south of France, winning 39-13.
Tony McGahan’s side led 10-6 at half-time after a Tomás O’Leary try and a conversion and penalty from Ronan O’Gara wiped out two early penalties from Julien Audy.
Munster pulled away after the interval with Lifeimi Mafi and substitute Barry Murphy both going over for two tries, while O’Gara would finish the match with 12 points.
Bath’s 3-3 draw with Toulouse at a soaking Recreation Ground means both teams must now travel for their quarter-final games
The French side take on top seeds Cardiff, while Bath travel to take on Premiership rivals Leicester.
Meanwhile, Connacht have been drawn away to Northampton in the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup.
