After watching his new youthful side demolish Scotland in Murrayfield on Sunday, France coach Marc Lievremont could be forgiven for an 'as you were' approach to this weekend's visit of Ireland to Paris.
Further emboldened, however, he is now not ruling out dropping some of his better performers to afford other young names a chance to impress.
Les Bleus began the defence of their Six Nations title with a comprehensive 27-6 win over Frank Hadden's side.
Lievremont put out an inexperienced side but they produced the goods and delivered the sort of rugby the French public has been yearning for.
France have gone with the same 22 for this weekend's showdown with Ireland in Paris, but Lievremont may yet tinker with his starting line-up.
"It is possible we could change things," said the former France flanker. "We are not ruling out dropping a player who has shone so that we can see someone else.
"We have in place a double objective — to develop a squad and our game, and to win matches."
France released a statement yesterday, stating they were delaying naming their team until tomorrow morning because selectors wished to "take a step back following the match against Scotland and analyse the video in detail".
Lievremont and his coaching staff will also use the extra day to monitor the fitness of scrumhalf Jean-Baptiste Elissalde and number eight Elvis Vermeulen.
Elissalde hurt his ankle early on against Scotland but lasted more than an hour, before being replaced by debutant Morgan Parra.
Vermeulen has a problem with his thorax, but both players are expected to be fit to face Ireland.
Ireland are due to name their team this afternoon after a less than convincing performance against Italy in Croke Park.
