Llanelli Scarlets have made a double raid on the English Premiership to bolster their squad for next season.

Bristol centre Rob Higgitt and Sale Sharks Tongan scrumhalf Sililo Martens will join the Magners League side this summer.

North Walian Higgitt has spent five seasons at Bristol and made more than 100 Premiership appearances, while Martens is set to fill the vacancy left by Wales star Dwayne Peel's forthcoming move to Sale.

Martens played in Wales for Swansea, Bridgend and the now defunct Celtic Warriors before joining Sale.

"I would like to wish Dwayne all the best in his move to Sale," Martens said. "I know I've got huge boots to fill at the Scarlets, but anyone that knows me will know that I am always up for a challenge."

Higgitt added: "This is a great opportunity for me. It is going to be tough just getting into the side, such is the competition for places, but I am looking forward to the challenge."
