Mark McCall has returned to coaching after joining former Ulster and Ireland teammate Jeremy Davidson as backs coach with struggling French side Castres.

The former Ulster coach replaces Ugo Mola at the club who are languishing second from bottom after losing three of their opening four games.

The 40-year-old stepped down as Ulster head coach last month after a run of poor results.

"These decisions were taken following rising dissent within the team and a bad start to the campaign," read a club statement.
