Munster coach Tony McGahan could find himself short of options at outhalf next season following reports that Paul Warwick will leave the province in the summer.
According to a statement from London Irish, the Australian is set to end his two-year spell at Thomond Park and link up with English Premiership leaders.
However, Munster have yet to confirm Warwick’s departure despite the Exiles claiming he has already signed a three-year deal.
Warwick, who joined Munster from Connacht in 2007, started at fullback during Munster’s last two Heineken Cup outings but has been principally used this season as cover for Ronan O’Gara where he has proved more than capable.
London Irish head coach Toby Booth clearly believes the player will be at the Madjeski Stadaium next year, stating: “Quality not quantity has been the philosophy underlying our recruitment policy, so when the opportunity came to sign a top-class player like Paul Warwick we jumped at the chance.
“Paul is a match-winning player whose performances at outhalf and fullback speak for themselves. He is a welcome addition as we continue to build a world-class squad at London Irish.”
