Rugby:Munster's Johne Murphy is looking for more consistency as the defending champions prepare to meet Cardiff in the Pro 12 tomorrow night.

Munster made it three wins from three with victory over the Scarlets last weekend and are already perched at the top of the head of proceedings.

Murphy, however, has not been entirely satisified with what he believes have been patchy performances and feels the side won’t get away with the same level at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"Although we've won our opening games, our performances have been a bit fitful,” the former Leicester player said today.

“We haven't really been playing for the 80 minutes that we need to. Last weekend for example we were good in the opening and second quarter and died away in the third. That won't do at all against the Blues.

“We really need to deliver an 80 plus minute performance and see what that leaves us."

Munster coach Tony McGahan has recalled Danny Barnes and Duncan Williams to a rejigged backline while Wian du Preez, Stephen Archer, Billy Holland and Tommy O'Donnell all start in the pack.

Eric Elwood will be without George Naoupu for a number of weeks after the number eight injured his knee last weekend with Ray Ofisa called into the side for tomorrow’s clash with the Dragons.

Dave Gannon will make his first start for the province since 2008 while Frank Murphy will be partnered by Niall O’Connor in the halfbacks.
