Ireland lock Malcolm O’Kelly has been cleared of stamping on Ospreys player David Bishop during Leinster's Magners League win last Friday.

The lock’s foot made contact with the side of Bishop’s head after a tackle and he was cited under law 10.4 (b). Bishop has since undergone surgery on his left ear.

However, at an IRFU hearing at Ravenhill this afternoon, the disciplinary committee of Hugh Logan (chairman), Neil Jackson and Stephen Hilditch reviewed video footage of the incident and found that “on the balance of probability”, O’Kelly had no case to answer.

O’Kelly was recently suspended for two weeks for stamping on Phil Vickery in a Leinster-Wasps Heineken Cup match in January.
