Fabien Pelous will miss France's showdown with Ireland in Paris on Friday because of a sprained left knee. The 33-year-old sustained the injury in Sunday's 87-10 demolition of Namibia.
The former France captain will have to rest until next Sunday, France said in a statement.
Hooker Raphael Ibanez, the current France captain, is also a doubtful starter. He was in hospital in Toulouse today with a throat injury and further checks were needed to determine how serious it was, the statement read.
Number eight Imanol Harinordoquy hurt his left thumb on Sunday but will resume light training tomorrow.
France coach Bernard Laporte, who had planned to name his team on Tuesday, will now do it on Wednesday.
