Six Nations:Wales have called Ospreys and Lions prop Adam Jones into their Six Nations squad ahead of their final match against France on Saturday.
Jones is a direct replacement for his regional team-mate Craig Mitchell, who withdrew with a dislocated shoulder during Wales’ 19-13 win over Ireland at the Millennium Stadium last Saturday.
“Craig has now had corrective surgery after dislocating his right shoulder,” said Wales national performance medical manager Prav Mathema. “The operation went very well and we would now expect him to be back playing within a 12–16 week period.”
Jones returned to frontrow action for his region a fortnight ago against Glasgow Warriors after a seven week lay-off with an elbow injury. He will join the Wlaes sqaud at the Vale Resort tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, Scarlets wing George North, who trained with the squad last week to boost numbers, remains with the squad and is in contention for selection ahead of the trip to Paris.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland will name his starting XV on Wednesday.
