Mike Ruddock will hold talks with the Welsh Rugby Union next Tuesday following his sudden exit as Wales manager.
Ruddock, who led Wales to their first grand slam in 27 years, left his job as team boss citing "family reasons", with skills coach Scott Johnson put in temporary charge.
But reports have since surfaced suggesting senior players had demanded his replacement, vehemently denied by WRU chief executive Steve Lewis.
Lewis has also dismissed suggestions Ruddock was upset over contract negotiations being delayed and the non-payment of his bonus following Wales’ grand slam triumph.
WRU chairman David Pickering has confirmed Ruddock will meet with the 18-man Board of Directors at 4.30pm on Tuesday.
"Mike requested a meeting with the full Board of Directors and I was happy to oblige. I wrote to the board members on Friday informing them of the meeting," said Pickering.
"Mike has not told me exactly what it is he wants to say, or what he expects out of the meeting, but it will be useful to hear his side of a story that has obviously stirred up so much emotion.
"The board met on Thursday night to discuss the issue and, with the Welsh team due to play its third match in the defence of its RBS Six Nations title in Ireland next weekend, it is vital we find some way to draw a line under the events of the past week.
"I’m sure that listening to what Mike has to say will give the board the chance to get to the heart of the true feelings and reasons behind his shock announcement."
