Rugby:The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) has confirmed the national team's schedule for a summer tour taking in matches against Australia, Fiji and Samoa. Scotland will begin against Australia at the Ausgrid Stadium in Newcastle, New South Wales, on June 5th.

They then face Fiji in Lautoka on June 16th and Samoa in Apia seven days later. A Scotland XV will also play New South Wales Waratahs at the Sydney Football Stadium on June 10th.

Head coach Andy Robinson, who will name a 32-man squad next month, said: “This will be a tough, full-on tour and I’ve been pleased with the form of many of the contenders for places within both the Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors teams over the last few weeks.

“We have seen a fantastic victory by Edinburgh over Toulouse in the Heineken Cup quarter-final and Glasgow remain on course for the play-offs in the RaboDirect PRO12, having displayed ruthlessness in their win against Cardiff Blues.”

The game against Australia will be screened by Sky Sports and the SRU added: “Scottish Rugby is making inquiries into broadcast arrangements in the Pacific Islands for supporters at home and will advise as soon as we have any information.”
