Six Nations starting line-ups

Italy v Wales (Saturday, 2

Italy v Wales(Saturday, 2.30pm): Italy coach Nick Mallett has made three changes to his side to face Wales in Saturday's Six Nations match at the Stadio Flaminio. Luciano Orquera drops to the bench with Kristopher Burton taking his place at number 10.

Benetton Treviso's Robert Barbieri joins captain Sergio Parisse and Alessandro Zanni in the Italian backrow. Santiago Dellape earns a start and will partner Quintin Geldenhuys in the secondrow.

Treviso scrumhalf Fabio Semenzato will make his first start in front of the home crowd after making his Azzurri debut against England earlier this month.

James Hook will start in his third different position of this year's championship. Hook, fullback against England and outhalf when Wales beat Scotland 10 days ago, moves to centre as replacement for the injured Jonathan Davies.

Hook wins his 50th cap, lining up alongside Jamie Roberts in midfield, while Stephen Jones returns at outhalf, making a 98th Test match appearance. Wales coach Warren Gatland has otherwise retained the team on duty at Murrayfield, although fit-again Cardiff Blues wing Leigh Halfpenny gains a place among the substitutes.

Scotland v Ireland(Sunday, 3pm): As part of a rallying call to "restore pride" in the Scottish jersey, Andy Robinson has pretty much overhauled the outfit which spluttered horribly against Wales. Admittedly, in making seven changes, several were enforced to some degree, but this Scottish selection looks stronger up front especially, with a more unproven yet more ambitious backline.

Full-back Hugo Southwell, his likely replacement, Rory Lamont, and centre Joe Ansbro had already been ruled out through injury, while tight-head Euan Murray does not play on Sundays due to his religious beliefs.

Ronan O’Gara will start at outhalf in place of Jonathan Sexton in one of three changes the Irish management have made as they attempt to get Ireland’s Six Nations campaign back on track.

There is also change at scrumhalf after Tomas O’Leary failed to overcome a back injury which has restricted him in training all week. His place in the starting XV goes to Eoin Reddan with Peter Stringer acting as cover from the bench.

After a knee injury kept him out of the opening two games, Tommy Bowe came through unscathed when lining out for the Ospreys last weekend and takes his place on the Ireland right wing with Keith Earls operating the other flank.
