Leinster 49 Edinburgh 10: Leinster made sure of their Heineken Cup qualification with an emphatic win over Edinburgh at Donnybrook this evening.

Michael Cheika's side guaranteed top spot in Pool Two with a bonus point win over the Scottish outfit, exorcising the ghosts of last October's defeat in the process.

With 20 points from their five games to date, Leinster cannot be caught at the top of the group and will travel to Gloucester next weekend safe in the knowledge that their place in the quarter-finals is secure.

The home side wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, full-back Robert Kearney dancing his way through the visitors defence to score the opening try.

Gordon D'Arcy, without his usual midfield partner Brian O'Driscoll, was the catalyst for Leinster's second score after a typically elusive break. While the Ireland centre was caught just short of the line, the ball reached the supporting Horgan who put Felipe Contepomi away to extend the lead.

Edinburgh responded shortly afterwards with a well worked Hugo Southwell try but two Contepomi penalties made sure Leinster were in control at the break with a 20-5 advantage.

Edinburgh came out fighting after the break, Ben Cairns profitting from a turnover to score their second try, but Leinster were swiftly back in the ascendancy and Horgan rounded off a fine team move to open a 17-point lead.

The bonus point was secured in the 64th minute when Stephen Keogh was on hand to receive Contepomi's pass after another fine break and Horgan added a fifth just two minutes later.

With the points in the bag, Cheika rang the changes but their was still time for Horgan to claim his third and Leinster's sixth try of the match.
