Morgan Stoddart has been called into Wales’ autumn Test squad as replacement for his fellow Scarlets back Mark Jones, who has been ruled out of the entire November series after suffering a knee injury in training.
And his place will be taken by fullback Stoddart, who won the last of his three caps against Canada in Cardiff a year ago.
Stoddart, 25, will report for training on Thursday, then be released back to the Scarlets for their LV Cup clash against Harlequins next Sunday before rejoining the Wales squad early next week.
Wales assistant coach Rob Howley said: “Morgan is an intelligent attacking player who will provide cover for us across the back three.
“He is a player we know very well, and just as importantly he knows our squad environment very well. He should be able to slot into things fairly quickly.”
