CBC Cork 32 Ardscoil Rís 14

CBC showed why they’re one of the favourites for the Munster Schools Junior Cup with an impressive five tries-to-two win over Ardscoil Rís in an entertaining quarter-final at Musgrave Park.

The Cork side did the bulk of the damage in the first half, scoring 18 unanswered points as their forwards dominated.

Outhalf Eoin Monahan kicked them in front with a fifth-minute penalty before he was involved in their opening try, for centre JD O’Hea.

Dynamic openside Finn Burke and fullback Robert Hedderman also scored.

Ardscoil showed battling qualities by claiming the first try of the second-half, through flanker John Taylor. It remained 18-7 until the closing eight minutes, when Christians made the game safe with an intercept try from Eoin Moloney. Darragh O’Gorman replied but Christians had the last say with Hedderman grabbing his second.
