Rugby:Irish fans seeking a refund for the postponed Six Nations game against France in Paris last weekend must return their tickets to the IRFU by 5pm on Tuesday, February 21st.

The refunding process is likely to take around five weeks.

The FFR have requested returns from the IRFU arrive no later than 5pm (Irish time) on Thursday the 23rd and they “will only refund actual physical tickets”, according to an IRFU statement this afternoon.

“Tickets that were purchased through a provincial club or www.irishrugby.ie can be returned to any of the provincial branch offices in Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster or to the IRFU head office at 10-12 Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4,” the IRFU added.

Fans that purchased tickets through other channels, such as travel agents or ticket sites, must contact “their point of purchase directly in order to claim a refund”.

All match tickets for last weekend’s game will be valid for the rematch on March 4th, but the FFR will not be reissuing tickets and entry will no be permitted without a ticket from the postponed fixture.

“While the timelines are not ideal for supporters, we have pushed hard to get this undertaking from the French Federation to refund ticket costs for Irish supporters who are unable to attend the rescheduled match,” said IRFU chief executive Philip Browne today.

“The team, and the IRFU, hugely appreciate the effort and expense Irish Supporters went to in order to be at the match and we hope this gesture will go some way towards making up for the inconvenience they suffered.”
