Trimble available to face hosts

Ireland winger Andrew Trimble is expected to be available for the crunch Pool D showdown with France on Friday week.

Ireland winger Andrew Trimble is expected to be available for the crunch Pool D showdown with France on Friday week.

Trimble sustained a fractured finger during Sunday's 32-17 victory over Namibia and was ruled out of the weekend's clash with Georgia. But the powerful Ulster winger is recovering on schedule and will be in the frame to face Les Bleus at the Stade de France.

Ireland assistant coach Niall O'Donavan said: "Andrew should be fine for France. Unless we pick up any fresh injuries against Georgia on Saturday, we should have a fully fit squad for France."

Meanwhile, Ireland will travel to Australia next June for one-off Test against the Wallabies as part of the side's summer Tour.
