Rugby:Ulster will have to wait to see where they play their Heineken Cup quarter-final clash away to Saracens on Saturday April 6th after the date and time for the game was announced by ERC today.
The game will kick off at 6.30pm, but a venue is still to be decided, with Saracens hoping that ERC sanction them to play at their new purpose-built Allianz Park ground in Barnet.
The London club are in talks with Barnet Council in a bid to raise the capacity of the ground, which has an artificial pitch, from 10,000 to 15,000 to reach the minimum capacity allowed under ERC rules.
On Monday, Ulster coach Mark Anscombe reacted with indifference to the prospect of his side having to play its first game on a plastic surface. “I don’t care really,” the coach said. “As long as it’s a good ground and the conditions are right.”
Munster’s clash away to Harlequins will take place on Sunday April 7th at the Twickenham Stoop, with the game kicking off at 2.0pm.
With a capacity of 14,800, Harlequins will have no issue in adding some temporary seating to being the numbers up to 15,000, although a 25 per cent allowance for visiting fans will see Munster fans with a maximum of just 3,750 tickets.
The Heineken Cup quarter-finals will get underway on Saturday April 6th with the all-French clash of Clermont Auvergne and Montpellier at Stade Marcel Michelin, with the game scheduled for 3.40pm Irish time.
The last quarter-final of the weekend sees Toulon host Leicester at 4.30pm Irish time on Sunday, with a venue still to be decided.
The schedule for the Amlin Cup quarter-finals, including Leinster’s trip to play Wasps, will be announced at 1pm.
The draw for the Amlin Cup quarter-finals sees Leinster travel to Adams Park in High Wycombe to take on Wasps on Friday April 5th, with the game scheduled for an 8pm start.
