Munster A 30 Nottingham 15
South African Gerhard van den Heever had a sparkling two-try Munster debut tonight as the home side finished strongly in a game that was delayed 15 minutes in the second half due to an injury sustained by Nottingham outhalf Tom Price.
Van den Heever’s first was a halfway intercept after 23 minutes which had the home side in front 15-3 and they looked to be cruising.
A great break by Ivan Dineen sent Denis Hurley in for Munster’s first try after 16 minutes but Dineen had to retire injured after 24 minutes.
Punishment for scrum infringements allowed Matt Jarvis kick four penalties to leave Munster 15-12 in front at the interval.
Jarvis was a target again three minutes into the second half but Holland kicked another Munster penalty.
Ronan O’Mahoney scored his fifth try in as many games and Holland again converted with van den Heever getting the bonus try a few minutes from the end.
