Victory at Thomond Park was just reward for the work Matt Williams and his Ulster squad have put in this season, but it will count for very little if they taste defeat against Edinburgh at Murrayfield on Friday evening.

Williams has named a 26-man squad from which he will select his 22 on Thursday and is adamant complacency does not creep in after a bonus-point win over the European champions.

"What we did against Munster was a real achievement, but every match is a clean slate and we are going into this game with as much determination and focus as we did Saturday's and that means taking nothing for granted," said Williams today.

"There are no guarantees in this league and Edinburgh are a strong team with pace on the ball. They have shown their skills with a win over league leaders, the Ospreys.

"This is a critical game for both sides, and we all know it will be a tough contest to the final whistle."

Carlo Del Fava, Cillian Willis, Simon Danielli and Bryn Cunningham are all ruled out through injury but Scotland international Rob Dewey is back in the squad after an appearance for the A side and could feature against his old club.

Of more importance, is the return of lock Ryan Caldwell, who has recovered from an ankle injury, and Ireland prop Bryan Young, while youngster Ian Whitten also included.

All five tryscorers from last weekend are included, as is outhalf Ian Humphreys, whose man-of-the-match display over Munster must have moved him into the reckoning as back-up for Ronan O'Gara on the international stage.
