BRITISH number two Greg Rusedski was drawn against Stella Artois champion Mark Philippoussis as the Wimbledon draw was made at the All-England Club yesterday.

Philippousis, seeded number seven at Wimbledon, progressed to his first-ever grass-court final at Queens last week and comfortably defeated world number three and twice Wimbledon runner-up Goran Ivanisevic in straight sets to take the Stella Artois title.

On paper British number one Tim Henman should be far too good for Canada's Daniel Nestor, ranked 109 in singles, but the 22-year-old's worrying recent form makes it less of a certainty.

In the rest of the draw the top four seeds all have what should be straightforward matches.

The most likely upset involves the fortunes of number five seed Michael Chang faces a tough opponent in Australian Todd Woodbridge.

Number eight seed Boris Becker should have a comfortable win over Marcos Gorriz of Spain. Britain's Chris Wilkinson faces Thomas Muster, the sixth seed.

In the women's draw, sadly lacking defending champion Steffi Graf, all eyes will be on 16-year-old Martina Hingis to see if she can add Wimbledon to her Australian Open title.

French Open champion Iva Majoli of Croatia faces Mariana Diaz Oliva, while Monica Seles takes on Rachel McQuillan of Australia as she bids to claim the only Grand Slam to have so far eluded her. American sensation Venus Williams faces Patricia Hy-Boulais.
