Michael Rutter brings a blast of grand prix power to the finale of the Isle of Man TT Festival on board his 500cc v-twin Vimto Honda in today's six-lap Senior race.
Rutter, the winner of last year's Junior TT, raced in last Sunday's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello and has opted to ride the 500cc bike instead of the heavier 900cc Honda Evolution Fireblade.
"I'm looking forward to the race," he said. "This bike is much the same as the one I use in grands prix and so I feel good about it.
"My real problem over here is shortage of practice because of flying out to race in Italy."
He joins Morecambe rider John McGuinness, a first-time winner on the island in last Monday's 250cc race, in the Vimto Honda squad, with the Lancastrian hoping for better than when he rode the 500cc machine in the opening race when handling worries forced him out.
But the men both have to watch are Shipley rider David Jefferies, the F1 race winner for Yamaha, and Glaswegian Jim Moodie, the winner of the Junior race, who will be aboard a powerful Honda RVF750.
Joey Dunlop, the remarkable 47-year-old Ballymoney publican, will be hoping to have his first success for the week, to stretch his remarkable winning pedigree on the island beyond its present 23. The Ulsterman will be riding another works-prepared Hon RVF750.
