CyclingThree days after she took bronze in the points race, Caroline Ryan set a personal best and new Irish record for the women's individual pursuit on the final day of the 2012 world track championships in Melbourne.

The Kildare woman went 10 seconds faster than her time in last year’s championships, clocking 3.34.515 in qualification. This put her ninth overall. At home, Ryan Sherlock took over the race lead of the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan, moving to the top of the general classification when he came home third, 15 seconds behind Conor Murphy (Eurocycles). He holds a 2-minute lead over Colin Parry (Primal Europe) going into today’s final stage.
