South Africa's Rory Sabbatini fired a final-round six-under-par 65 to win the Air Canada Championship in British Columbia yesterday.
The 24-year-old finished on 16-under-par to beat third-round leader Grant Waite by one shot and claim his first title on the USPGA Tour, having finished second at the Bob Hope Classic earlier this year and twice third in 1999.
Waite could only manage a 69 on day four but held on for second ahead of Mark Calcavecchia (67) by one stroke.
Spanish sensation Sergio Garcia was among four golfers tied for fourth on 13 under after closing with a 67. He was joined by Michael Clark (63), Doug Barron (67) and Chris Riley (68).
Sweden's Jesper Parnevik, second overnight after leading at halfway, slipped back to joint-22nd after a 74 left him on nine under.
