Clarke v Sutton

Overview - Sutton birdied the second, third and fourth to go three up. But Clarke remained patient and squared at the 10th. He then took the lead with a birdie at the long 12th. Turning points - Clarke's driver, driver to 25 feet at the 12th; then Sutton's miss from two-and-a-half feet at the 14th. Loser's view: "On the back nine, everything that could go wrong did go wrong," said Sutton.

Woods bt Love 5 and 4; Clarke bt Duval 4 and 2.

Clarke v Duval

Overview - Closely contested front nine with Clarke making two birdies to Duval's one to turn one up. Clarke then birdied the 10th and 12th, as he had done against Sutton earlier in the day. Turning point - Clarke's 25-foot putt for a winning birdie on the 13th to go four up. Loser's view: "It would certainly have been a bonus to be playing Tiger, but the real disappointment is not reaching the final," said Duval.
