The IRFU has been forced to make three changes to the Irish squad for the under-21 World Cup which begins next Saturday in Argentina.
The tournament organisers have ruled that players who have won senior caps are ineligible to play in the competition and, as a result, scrum-half Ciaran Scally has been replaced by Old Belvedere's Simon Keogh.
Injuries to Leicester's Geordan Murphy and Greystones' Cormac Dowling have forced them to pull out of the squad and they are replaced by Patrick Wallace and Shane Moore of UCD.
Ireland open their campaign against France on Saturday July 17th and then meet hosts Argentina on July 20th before completing their pool matches against New Zealand on July 23rd. Irrespective of their results in the pool games, Ireland will have further matches on July 27th and 31st.
Full back Matthew Burke can thank his kicking prowess for regaining his starting position in the Wallaby line-up for Saturday's Tri-Nations game against South Africa in Brisbane.
Burke kicked 18 points for the Australian Barbarians against New Zealand A last weekend and comes into the side for the inform Chris Latham. Apart from Burke's recall, coach Rod Macqueen has yet to name his starting line-up due to injury worries to prop Glenn Panaho and midfielder Jason Little.
South African coach Nick Mallett faces several enforced changes leading into Saturday's Tri-Nations Test against Australia. Captain Gary Teichmann and Corne Krige have been ruled out with knee injuries from the All Black game while forwards Mark Andrews (hip) and Andre Vos (ribs) are doubtful. Johan Erasmus is expected to take over as captain.
There is also doubt whether halves Gaffie du Toit and David van Hoesslin will be selected given their poor performances in Dunedin.
Full back Jean-Luc Sadourny and backrower Philippe Benetton have been left out of France's provisional 30-man World Cup squad.
Sadourny, who plays for Colomiers, has seen his form slump in recent months after battling back from a serious knee ligament injury last season which sidelined him for several months.
