ITALIAN SERIE A: Juventus won their 29th Italian league title with a 2-0 final day victory over Reggina yesterday, assuring the club of a second successive "scudetto". Fabio Capello's side finished the season three points ahead of second-placed AC Milan who won 2-1 at home to AS Roma.

Fiorentina's 2-0 win over Chievo assured the Florence club of fourth place and a spot in the qualifying round of next season's Champions League along with third-placed Inter Milan.

Juve, however, are facing a series of investigations into allegations of match-fixing and, if found guilty, could be stripped of their last two titles and demoted to Serie B. The scandal has focused on telephone intercepts from last season featuring discussions about refereeing appointments between Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi, who resigned yesterday, and football federation officials.

SPANISH PRIMERA LIGA: King's Cup winners Espanyol escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth on Saturday after a dramatic stoppage time goal from midfielder Ferran Corominas earned them a 1-0 win at home to Real Sociedad.

Uefa Cup winners Sevilla continued a week of celebrations and boosted their hopes of earning a place in the Champions League when they beat a second string Barcelona 3-2.

Barca rested eight first choice players for Wednesday's Champions League final against Arsenal. The victory put the Andalucians into fifth place in the table, level on 65 points with Osasuna. Valencia are in third on 69 points and Real Madrid are second on 70.

Osasuna host Valencia and Sevilla entertain Real Madrid tomorrow night with the runners-up spot and the final Champions League berth still at stake.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA: Werder Bremen snatched second place and direct qualification into the Champions League with a thrilling 2-1 victory at Hamburg SV on the final day of the Bundesliga season. Miroslav Klose scored the winner 18 minutes from time which lifted Bremen up from third at the expense of Hamburg, who now enter the third qualifying round for the Champions League.

Bayern Munich finished the season with 75 points, ahead of Bremen on 70 and Hamburg 68.

FRENCH LIGUE 1: Lille claimed a Champions League third qualifying round spot after a 2-2 draw at Stade Rennes in a nail-biting last round of matches in Ligue 1 on Saturday. Lens finished fourth and qualified for the Uefa Cup.Olympique Lyon celebrated their record fifth consecutive title, secured four weeks ago, with a 8-1 rout of Le Mans.
