Four-times beaten finalists in the last five years, it all came right for Fr Casey's at a wet Gaelic Grounds yesterday, when they claimed their first Limerick senior football title since 1945.
They left it late, though, with Tony Scannell sending over the crucial point deep into injury time.
Drom-Broadford, in their first- season in the senior championship, were deflated, even more so after Michael Reidy missed a marvellous chance of forcing a replay when he shot wide with the last kick of the game.
Wind-assisted in the first half, Drom-Broadford, thanks to six points from Michael Reidy, led 0-7 to 0-2 at the break.
Casey's took up the running on the change of ends and Shay McAuliffe and Aidan Enright ignited their challenge. Tom Fitzgerald left just one point in it after 50 minutes and Aidan Enright made it all square before Scannell popped up for the match-winning point.
