Rangers 2 Celtic 0: Rangers clinched a Champions League slot with a 2-0 home win over Scottish champions Celtic on Saturday in the final Old Firm derby clash of the season.
Kris Boyd slammed a first-time shot under Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc from 12 metres in the 35th minute for his 100th Scottish Premier league goal.
Charlie Adam hit the second with a low free kick under the defensive wall into the bottom left corner from 20 metres in the 56th minute.
Second-placed Rangers, unbeaten in the league since Walter Smith replaced Paul Le Guen as manager in January, have 72 points from 36 games while Celtic are on 81.
"I have had a terrific reaction from everyone since I came here," Smith said, "and we have not lost a league game since coming back and if that had been the form throughout the season then we could have been challenging for the championship."
St Mirren boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win at Dundee United, who had former Shamrock Rovers striker Noel Hunt dismissed on 21 minutes.
St Mirren have 33 points from 36 games while bottom club Dunfermline Athletic, managed by former Derry boss Stephen Kenny, are on 29 points and entertain Motherwell this evening.
