Bernadette Matthews found the answer to Hurricane Mitch. The Lady Vice Captain at Seapoint golf club became the first woman to shoot a hole in one at the Co Louth course. And the recipe for her success, she said, was to attend the Captain's dinner the night before.

Matthews used a seven wood at the 137-metres par three. However, she had to settle for third place in the hamper competition behind Pauline McCloskey and Linda McAuley.
