Magheracloone, appearing in their first senior championship final, were within a whisker of making history when they led by a point three minutes into stoppage time but Clontibret struck for a dramatic equaliser a minute later from wing half back Cathal Leonard.
Clontibret had opened a three points gap only to be hauled back to parity with three points in quick succession, all from frees by Damien Freeman.
Magheracloone's Damien Freeman fired to the net a minute from half-time as the sides went in level at 1-4 to 0-7 at the break.
The lead changed hands twice in the first five minutes of the second-half, Gregory Leonard putting Clontibret in front within a minute of the restart and then Damien Freeman firing over two quick points to restore Magheracloone to the lead.
However, they were not to score again until the 24th minute when a goal by substitute James Ward brought them back to parity. Gerard Finnegan fired Magheracloone into the lead two minutes from the end only for Leonard to equalise deep in injury time..
