ROBIN SEYMOUR was out on his own again as he registered his sixth consecutive win in the Irish cyclo-cross championship at Ballymoney, Co Antrim, on Saturday.
At the end of 10 laps of a circuit of just under a mile, Seymour had lapped all except Michael Carroll.
Only 17 started - Paul Giles was among the absentees - and Seymour led the way into the first two corners. Then last year's junior champion, Ross Blayney, swept ahead, but Seymour soon regained the lead and at the end of the first lap he was 20 seconds ahead of Carroll with Blayney next.
Next time around the gap to Carroll was 50 seconds. From then on Seymour pulled relentlessly away and clearly demonstrated his superiority. He completed the course in 51 minutes and 54 seconds.
The team title went to Bann Valley with Carroll and Steel supported by Brendan Clarke in seventh place.
